Do you view yourself as a winner or a loser? Well today (as I write this) is GCSE results day! Fantastic for all those who have achieved the results they wanted. Take a moment though to think about those who think they have failed or not got the results they expected. It’s the same in anything in life where we hold expectations and don’t for some reason achieve them. Just because you don’t get the desired results you look at it as a failure. Well in my world and what I teach – there is no such thing as failure. It is a way to learn how to do something better next time or how to approach something in a different way.
Last night I gave a podcast interview, which will go out on all the podcast platforms worldwide soon. In this I explained that life is a journey of self learning. We all learn in different ways (especially me being dyslexic) but we should strive to be the best we can. Why? Because you are then reaching your full potential. These kids who think they have failed will go on to learn that it’s not all about education and you can succeed in anything you put your mind to. Look at Lord Sugar who started out on a market stall and Richard Branson who like me had few qualifications, but we picked ourselves up and went for whatever we believed in.
So you see in a way we are all achievers in one way or another and should be proud of who we are and what we do. Personally I think the main criteria in life is being kind and just being nice! What’s your take?
